Abstract

Character education for Generation Alpha is becoming increasingly important amid the development of digital technology, which provides broad and rapid access to information but also presents challenges in the form of declining social concern and moral degradation. However, studies specifically addressing character education methods from a Qur’anic perspective and their implications for Generation Alpha remain limited. This study aimed to analyze character education methods from a Qur’anic perspective and their implications for the character formation of Generation Alpha. The study employed a qualitative approach using the library research method. Data were collected through documentation of the Qur’an, hadith, Qur’anic exegesis works, books, scholarly journals, articles, and relevant previous studies and subsequently analyzed using content analysis. The results showed that character education methods from a Qur’anic perspective include riyadhah akhlak, supervision, targhib, tarhib, the creation of a religious and conducive environment, and the provision of advice and dialogue. These methods are directed toward habituating good behavior, strengthening character, regulating behavior, providing motivation, correcting mistakes, and developing moral awareness. Conceptually, the application of these methods has the potential to strengthen religious character, noble morals, integrity, discipline, social concern, critical thinking skills, personal resilience, and wisdom in using technology among Generation Alpha. This study contributes to expanding research on Islamic character education by positioning Qur’anic values as the foundation for the character formation of Generation Alpha amid the development of digital technology. Future research should examine the implementation and effectiveness of these methods through field research or mixed-methods approaches.
