Author Guidelines

1. General Information

  • The manuscript must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.

  • Articles can include field/literature-based research, conceptual papers, methodological studies, or theoretical critiques in the fields of social science, education, management, and Islamic studies.

  • Manuscripts should be written in Indonesian or English or Arabic, typed in Garamond 12 pt, A4 size paper, 3 cm margins on all sides, 1.5 line spacing, and single-column format.

  • Recommended length: 5,000–8,000 words.

2. Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts must follow this structure:

  • Title: Clear, specific, and representative of the study variables. Avoid uncommon abbreviations.

  • Author(s) & Affiliation(s): Full names, institutional affiliations (including university, and country), and email addresses. Ensure consistency between OJS data and manuscript.

  • Abstract (in English and Indonesian): Around 200–250 words, one paragraph, no indentation, 11 pt font. Follow this structure (without headings):

    • Background & objective

    • Method

    • Main findings

    • Implication

  • Keywords: Consists of 5–6 relevant words or phrases - Represents core concepts, supports indexing - Avoids general/vague terms

  • Introduction: Should include:

    • Current research issue

    • Researcher’s response and relevant theory

    • Literature review with gap identification

    • Justification of novelty (state of the art)

    • Research aim clearly stated

  • Methods: Provide sufficient detail to allow replication, including:

    • Research type and design

    • Participants and sampling

    • Instruments and data collection

    • Data analysis techniques

    • Research timeline and location

  • Results: Presented systematically with tables/figures. Highlight major and minor findings. Include anomalies (if applicable). Results and discussion must be separated.

  • Discussion: Interpret findings, compare with literature, emphasize theoretical or practical contributions, and acknowledge study limitations.

  • Conclusion: Summarize major findings, scientific contributions, and future recommendations. Avoid repetition and bullet points.

  • References:

    • Minimum of 20 references

    • At least 80% from reputable journals (Scopus/WoS/SINTA 1)

    • Published within the last 10 years

    • Use APA 7th edition style

    • Reference management tools (Mendeley) recommended

    • Include DOI or accessible link for each source

3. Pre-Submission Checklist

Before submitting, authors should:

  • Format the manuscript according to the AlSys template.

  • Conduct a self-assessment using the pre-evaluation rubric provided.

  • Ensure the manuscript has not been published or submitted elsewhere.

Title:  - Clear, specific, and reflects the main variables and study scope- No more than 15 words, no uncommon abbreviations- Includes main keywords.

Abstract: - Includes: (1) Background/problem; (2) Objective; (3) Methodology; (4) Main findings; (5) Implications/conclusions- Concise and informative- Maximum 250 words.

Keywords:  - Consists of 5–6 relevant words or phrases- Represents core concepts, supports indexing- Avoids general/vague terms.

Introduction:  - Presents relevant, contextual research issues- Includes recent literature review (Scopus/WoS/SINTA 1–2)- Identifies research gap and state of the art- Explicitly states the novelty/contribution- Clearly defines research objectives.

Methods:  - Describes type and design of research clearly- Explains participants and sampling techniques- Instruments are valid and reliable- Data analysis aligns with research objectives- Ethical procedures and implementation are included- Includes research time and location.

Results:  - Main findings presented clearly and systematically- Visuals (tables/figures) are clear and informative- Negative or anomalous data included (if any)- Does not mix with discussion section.

Discussion:  - Interprets findings using theory and literature- Critically compares with previous studies- Shows scientific and practical contributions- Transparently presents research limitations.

Conclusion: - Summarizes key findings and answers objectives- States scientific contribution- Provides recommendations for future research/practice.

References: - ≥80% from reputable journals (Scopus Q1–Q3, WoS, SINTA 1)- Published within the last 10 years- Uses reference manager (Mendeley)- Follows APA 7th Edition- At least 20 references, each with DOI or accessible link.
