Aims and Scope

Asian Journal of Early Childhood and Elementary Education publishes peer-reviewed scholarship that advances research and practice in early childhood education and elementary/primary education across Asian and global contexts. The journal welcomes rigorous studies that strengthen understanding of child development, learning and teaching, curriculum and assessment, inclusive education, and school–family–community partnerships, with clear contributions to theory, methodology, and classroom practice.

Promote Inclusion and Child-Centered Education
Encourage scholarship on inclusive education, equity, play-based learning, safeguarding, and family–school–community partnerships for holistic development.
Scope
The journal considers original research articles, systematic reviews, and theoretically informed papers in early childhood and elementary education. Submissions should demonstrate methodological rigor, ethical compliance, and clear relevance to improving children’s learning and development.
1) Child Development and Early Learning
Cognitive, language, socio-emotional, moral, and physical development; play-based learning; early literacy and numeracy; and developmental assessment.
2) Teaching, Learning, and Classroom Practice
Instructional strategies, classroom interaction, differentiation, formative assessment, classroom management, and approaches that improve learning outcomes.
3) Curriculum, Assessment, and Learning Resources
Curriculum development, thematic learning, learning materials (including digital resources), assessment literacy, rubric development, and evaluation studies.
4) Inclusive Education and Child Wellbeing
Inclusive practices, special needs education, safeguarding, mental health and wellbeing, equity, gender, and culturally responsive teaching.
5) Family, Community, and Early Intervention
Parent engagement, home learning environments, community-based programs, early intervention, transitions to school, and school–family partnerships.
6) Literacy, Numeracy, and Foundational Skills
Foundational literacy and numeracy, language development, bilingual contexts, reading interventions, mathematics learning, and early science learning.
7) Teacher Education and Professional Development
Pre-service and in-service teacher education, mentoring, reflective practice, professional learning communities, and competencies for early and primary teachers.
8) Educational Technology in Early and Primary Settings
Digital learning for young children, developmentally appropriate technology use, learning media, digital storytelling, and evidence-based evaluation of EdTech interventions.
9) School Leadership and Quality Assurance
Leadership in early childhood and elementary institutions, quality assurance, program evaluation, governance, and data-informed improvement initiatives.
10) Policy, Equity, and Comparative Perspectives
Early childhood and primary education policy, access and equity, inclusive systems, comparative studies across regions, and evidence for policy improvement.
Types of Manuscripts Considered
The journal considers, among others, the following manuscript types: empirical quantitative studies, qualitative research, mixed-methods studies, classroom-based studies, intervention and program evaluation research, design and development studies for learning resources, systematic/scoping reviews, conceptual/theoretical analyses, and methodological papers. Research involving children must demonstrate clear ethical safeguards and appropriate consent procedures.
